The Move On Mohammeds!
The wonderful Chair of our Board of Trustees, Ash, took on the Wee Wander – along with wife Shama, and daughter Sufia!

25 Years Of Move On
Move On is turning 25!
We’ve set a strong goal for the occasion. We’re hoping to raise £25,000 to help us change lives for another 25 years!
To help with the fundraising effort, we sent a strong team of Move On staff and supporters to take part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on September 18th!
Through taking part in the Kiltwalk, everything we raised will be topped up 50% by The Hunter Foundation.

Walk Options
With 3 routes of different lengths available, there was an option for everyone! We ended up with people walking on every route for Move On – The Wee Wander at 3.5 miles, The Big Stroll at 13 miles, and The Mighty Stride at 22 miles!
We also enjoyed regular pit-stops spaced at distances of about 4.5 miles. There was water and snacks aplenty provided at each stop, with a much appreciated soup and tasty sausage roll for a wee heat at stop 2 for the Mighty Striders, and a hot meal at the finish line for everyone!
Training Stories
Rachel McIndoe – Move On Marketing & Communications Lead
Our staff team Kiltwalkers have been training hard!
Here’s our MarComms Lead and Kiltwalk Team Captain Rachel taking on a training challenge by climbing Conic Hill! Much as the sights were beautiful, she’s very relieved after the experience that the Kiltwalk is a largely flat route! Can’t beat those views of Loch Lomond though.
Rebecca Tennant – Move On Development Worker
Development Worker Rebecca is taking on The Mighty Stride, and partner Euan is joining to support her – and us! They’ve been taking advantage of the recent sunny weather, and the lovely scenery around Edinburgh to get those steps in!
They recently walked 25km along the canal from Edinburgh to Broxburn – around 2/3 of the distance they’ll be taking on for the Kiltwalk! We’re all about learning as we train here at Move On – Rebecca realised during this walk that she’s going to need sturdier shoes for the big day.
John Hinton – Move On Executive Director
John is a keen walker, and has a real passion for getting out and about in Scotland,. As our Founder, he’s also passionate about fundraising for Move On!
John sees our 25th birthday as an opportunity to look back at the many successes we’ve achieved since 1997. We’ve supported thousands of people to make positive change to their lives.
Ash Mohammed – Move On Chair
Chair of our Board of Trustees, Ash is doing his bit for our Kiltwalk effort too – and he’s bringing the family along!
Daughter Sufia has been a regular helper over the years, coaching Ash through previous sporting fundraisers for Move On, such as Tough Mudder. This year, she’s coming along too! Ash, Sufia, and mum Shama are all taking on the Wee Wander together!
The Zurich Proclaimers
We’re so delighted to have one of our corporate sponsors joining us on the day. Our very own Zurich Proclaimers will be taking on the Big Stroll to raise money for Move On!
Rachael, Kelly, Emma, Jocy, Graeme and Chelsi are hard in training, and have taken on the challenge as part of their work with the Zurich Community Trust!
