Coronation Food Hub
On 24th May 2026, Move On formally opened Scotland’s first Coronation Food hub from our FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland base on South Street. The Hub, in Scotstoun, is the first in Scotland and brings together three charities – Move On, Felix and Multibank Scotland – under one roof for the first time. As part of the Coronation Food Project, inspired by His Majesty King Charles III, the newly refurbished site will play a vital role in providing surplus food to communities in need across the region.
As well as signficantly increasing our capacity to rescue, store and distribute surplus food across Glasgow and the West of Scotland, the refurbished facility has expanded opportunities for volunteering, employability training, and corporate engagement.

Move On manage the FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland service, redistributing quality surplus food to charities and community groups feeding people at risk of food poverty.
Based at our Coronation Food Hub, FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland redistributes surplus food across 13 local authority areas, containing 52% of the population in Scotland. We redistribute the equivalent of 2.5 million meals annually to nearly 100 charities, including children’s breakfast clubs, homeless shelters, and older people’s lunch groups.

In 2026, FareShare merged with London’s largest food redistribution charity, The Felix Project. The combined organisation operates under the new name Felix. Felix is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. Move On are one of 17 network partners of Felix, having operated the Glasgow and the West of Scotland site since 2011.

Through our Coronation Food Hub, we are also able to provide Training for Work, an eight-week employability programme for 16-24 year olds who are living in Glasgow. The programme supports young people to gain qualifications; practical work experience in a busy warehouse; certified manual handling, first aid, and health and safety training; CV and mock interview practice; and support to take next training or employment steps.
With an in-house driving instructor, our Drivers Employability Training Scheme supports 17-25 year olds to become qualifed and safe car and van drivers. We also offer accredited RTITB forklift operation training.
We are an SQA accredited centre and offer SQA Awards in Core Skills, Employability, Personal Development and the Certificate of Work Readiness.

Move On’s Coronation Food Hub is also the site of the Multibank service for Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Multibank is a clothes, bedding, baby, hygiene products, toys and furniture bank all rolled into one.
The idea is simple: companies have surplus non-food goods that people need and local charities know they can put to good use. The Multibank service connects the two to reduce the effects of poverty, enabling people to access opportunities while contributing to a sustainable economy.
It also brings together surplus non-food goods, corporate donations and community distribution networks to provide practical support to people experiencing hardship. Working with referral partners, community organisations and other stakeholders, the Multibank aims to ensure that essential items reach those who need them most, while reducing waste and strengthening local support networks.
