Grant - trainee

I came to Move On as I wanted to learn new skills, meet new folk and help vulnerable people.

Working here has been a brilliant experience as I’ve had the opportunity to get involved in things I’ve never done before. I can now drive a forklift.  I also get to work with a great staff team who are all supportive and helpful.  One of the best things about being here is that I have been given a chance to help vulnerable people and young people who work or volunteer in the warehouse.

My plan for the future is to gain full time employment so I can support my family and learn more new skills. Move On has helped me to strive towards my goals as Lynne, Scott and Andy gave me a chance at a time difficult time in my life. This helped me build up my confidence up and develop teamwork and leadership skills.

The advice I’d give to people who find themselves in a similar situation to me is that if you want to achieve your goals then just keeping working hard, put in 100% effort and don’t give up. The more work you put in, the more likely you are to achieve your goal.
