On Wednesday 24th June Move On officially opened its new Coronation Food Project Hub in Glasgow in partnership with Felix and Multibank Scotland. The first of its kind in Scotland, the newly-refurbished site will enable us to provide more surplus food that would otherwise go to waste to people in need across the region. Operating under the name FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland, it will also be home to a brand new Multibank for Glasgow, giving essential items to people in need in the area.
Over 100 people joined us at this opening celebration, which marks an important milestone in the effort to provide surplus food to communities in need across the region as part of His Majesty The King’s Coronation Food Project.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, staff, partners, funders and supporters, without whom this project would not have been possible. Together, we’re bridging the gap between food waste and food insecurity.
