James’ Journey
With an exciting new life chapter about to commence, we are celebrating James’ mentoring journey with us! James joined our mentoring service at the end of 2022 before being matched with his first mentor at the start of 2023. Together they worked on joint goals around fitness at his local gym, then shortly afterwards James was matched with another mentor Sarah.
Right away Sarah and James had lots of fun testing each other’s knowledge about numerous topics. A master of facts, there’s nothing James doesn’t know about football and movies. He often visits stadiums throughout the UK and enjoys trips to the cinema with his grandparents.
James has made amazing progress and recently took part in a course by The Rangers Charity Foundation focusing on employability, health and well-being, and community engagement. To top this James was also presented with a Golden Boot Award from Lee McCulloch! Building on this, James and Sarah also engaged in career quizzes to help explore things James might like to do in the future.
This has all been leading up to James working towards starting a new chapter in his life when he starts a college course in August! A great opportunity for him, and we’re sure he will be able to teach his tutors a thing or two.
It’s been a privilege getting to know James’s grandparents who are an amazing support. We’ve really enjoyed watching his progress and, whilst we are sorry, he is leaving us, we know that he will shine at college and beyond.
