Way Ahead
Way Ahead supports people to access training, education, volunteering, work experience, and employment.
The service is available to people who are 29 years old and over, living in Glasgow, and facing complex barriers to work, such as:
- are or have been impacted by homelessness
- in recovery
- been involved with the criminal justice system
The service aims to support people who are long-term unemployed to improve their employment prospects, as well as their confidence, aspirations, and wider quality of life.
Course content
If you are eligible, Way Ahead could give you:
- 1:1 support from a dedicated mentor
- Help to access advice and support for housing, benefits, wellbeing, or health
- Personal development
- Disclosure help for any convictions
- Support when you are in work
- Access to training and learning opportunities
- Help to find work

Way Ahead
Way Ahead is a Glasgow City Council Economic Support Fund employability contract being delivered by the Wheatley Foundation.
The scheme is delivered in collaboration with several third-sector organisations, including Move On; Apex Scotland; Scottish Action for Mental Health; Street Soccer Scotland; and GECCo.
