These roles are paid at the Real Living Wage.

The programme is funded by Glasgow City Council and delivered by GCVS with partners Glasgow Chamber of CommerceEnable ScotlandCEMVO Scotland, and Move On

What is the Paid Work Placements programme?

The Paid Work Placements programme is funded by Glasgow City Council to provide opportunities for up to 90 people with barriers to employment to have a work placement paid at the Real Living Wage.

Placements will be funded for between 18 and 26 weeks, and for between 16 and 25 hours a week (with flexibility for fewer if required because of disability or caring responsibilities). A maximum of 550 hours can be funded through the programme.

The employee can also expect ongoing support during their placement as well as training to help them to stay in employment at the end of the placement.

Who can apply for a Paid Work Placement vacancy?

The Paid Work Placement vacancies are open to anyone who meets the criteria below:

  • Have a Glasgow City Council postcode
  • Unemployed
  • Facing barriers to employment*
  • Aged 16-67

* You may be disengaged from education or mainstream services, have a disability or mental health condition, have caring responsibilities, or be impacted by poverty.

After you send your completed application form, the next steps are:

  • Applications will be sorted through by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and sent to the employer
  • Glasgow Chamber of Commerce will contact you with interview dates and times
  • Successful candidates will be contacted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce

How is Move On involved?

We’re proud to be one of the partners supporting employers and participants, alongside Enable Scotland and CEMVO Scotland.

As a partner in the Paid Work Placements programme, Move On will support employers and participants:

  • Before placements start (e.g. interview preparation, identifying any additional support needs, etc.)
  • During placements (i.e. working with employers and participants to ensure the Paid Work Placement is proceeding positively for both partners)
  • At the end of placements (i.e. to support participants into positive next steps including education and employment)
