The courses are suitable for young people aged 16+ and adults in recovery.

Training for Work
Entry criteria
Training for Work is a new employability course for young people aged 16-24 who are living in Glasgow.
Two proofs of ID are needed – one proof of address and one photographic ID.
What young people can gain
Our employability course in Glasgow gives young people the chance to gain:
• Practical work experience at FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland
• In-work skills and knowledge of the warehouse sector
• A range of industry recognised qualifications, including manual handling, health & safety, and SQA qualifications
• CV help and interview practice
• Support to move on to further training, education and employment
Course location and hours
Training for Work is based at our FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland warehouse at 1070 South Street, Glasgow, G14 0AP.
The next course starts at the end of January and is 3.5 days a week for eight weeks.

Building Brighter Futures
Entry criteria
Building Brighter Futures is an employability course open to 16-21 year olds in Edinburgh City, Lothians and Borders.
The course is suitable for young people on Stage 2 of the Employability Pipeline.
Young people must be able to self travel to Edinburgh.
What young people can gain
Our employability course in Edinburgh gives young people the chance to gain:
• Experience in our Move On Wood Recycling wood workshop
• Support and funding to achieve CSCS Green Labourers Card, essential to work on construction sites and valid for five years
• Industry recognised manual handling qualification
• SQA qualifications
• CV help and interview practice
• Support to move on to further training, education and employment
Course location and hours
Our employability training for young people is split between our Edinburgh city centre office and Move On Wood Recycling workshop.
The next course starts on Tuesday 20th February and will run on Tuesday and Wednesday for eight weeks.

Venture On to Recovery
Entry criteria
Venture On to Recovery is a personal development course in Glasgow for adults in recovery.
What participants can gain
Delivered with our partners ElevateGlasgowPSP and Venture Scotland, the 12-week programme gives participants the opportunity to take part in fun outdoor activities and personal development workshops.
With a focus on developing life and employability skills, Venture On to Recovery supports people in recovery to consider aims in life; set goals to realise and maximise employment prospects; and make positive next steps on their journey.
Information sessions
We’re hosting two information sessions in our Glasgow city centre office as an opportunity for people to hear more about the course; meet the Move On and Venture Scotland staff; and ask questions.
The information sessions will take place on:
- Thursday 18th January, 2pm-4pm
- Friday 19th January, 10am-12pm
