Case study: Supporting Robbie into an apprenticeship
Robbie achieved several employment focused skills and qualifications through our Building Brighter Futures course, including his SQA Employability Award, qualification in Core Skills, and his Health and Safety qualification.
We also supported Robbie with the revision, practice and funding for his CSCS test, which meant he could apply for a CSCS Green Labourer Card. Robbie was able to use this to secure employment with DV McColl and Border Timberguard.
With his new qualifications and work experience, Robbie was successful in applying for a plumbing apprenticeship with JW Border Gas.
Robbie highly recommends our employment training to other young people in Edinburgh, saying “Thank you for putting me through this and for all of your help with everything. I couldn’t recommend someone else to do this more, thanks again.”
Case study: Employment success for Kai
Kai is another young people in Edinburgh who achieved qualifications, training and practical work experience through our Building Brighter Futures course.
After completing the course, Kai secured a Community Jobs Scotland job in our Move On Wood Recycling social enterprise. Kai shares in our video interview how the role gave him the opportunity to learn new skills and increase his confidence.
After finishing his Community Jobs Scotland placement, Kai used his training and work experience to secure full-time employment with LEMAC, an electric motor manufacturer.
