Connor and Tim recently celebrated the end of their mentor match with a trip to Rumble Jungle Adventure Golf. Over the past 18 months, Tim has been supporting Connor with his goal to improve his fitness and well being, through regular gym work outs and cycling around the different parks in Glasgow. They’ve also attended job fairs together, as well as browsing designer shops and going to the annual Fashion Show at the Glasgow School of Art.
Connor says his “well being has drastically increased” over his time with Move On. Tim has noticed significant changes in Connor, particularly that he’s much more confident and relaxed in social situations, finding it easier to be part of a group and initiate conversations, compared to when they first met.
Tim has enjoyed making a difference to someone’s life by using his skills and life experience. He says he thinks “one of the best things is being able to give someone your time and understanding” and that “the reward comes in seeing differences and improvements in the individual.”
We want to say a huge thank you to Tim for his dedication as a volunteer, and we wish Connor all the best for completing his college course and beyond!
