We’re hiring a Depot Development Worker and C1 Driver & Depot Operative. Both jobs are based at our social enterprise, FareShare Glasgow & the West of Scotland. These roles will play a key part in our mission to reduce waste, and feed those most in need.

Depot Development Worker
Part-time, Permanent – 30 hours per week (job-share and/or part time applicants welcomed)
Salary: £23,330 to £24,881 (pro-rata FTE 35 hours)
Location: FareShare Glasgow & the West of Scotland
Closing Date: Friday 22nd July
The Role
With our services more in need than ever, we’re looking to grow our tight-knit and highly motivated depot team. The main purpose of this role is to help structure, plan and manage the flow of surplus food around our network. You’ll help our team to ensure that the FSGWS depot is always a safe, efficient and welcoming place to work, train and volunteer.
You’ll also support and train our volunteers, trainees and service users, making sure they’re fully motivated to provide the best service to FSGWS stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
Our ideal candidate is keen to learn, committed and imaginative. You’ll have strong numeracy, literacy and organisational skills. Experience of working in a busy depot environment is essential, as is an understanding of health & safety, food hygiene, stock control, logistics, and basic IT packages. Please note the role requires a full driving license.
Most importantly, our perfect depot development worker will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working with Move On means meeting with people from all walks of life. It’s essential that our team members can communicate effectively with a diverse network of people, building excellent working relationships with volunteers, suppliers, CFMs, and the wider FareShare network.

FareShare C1 Driver & Depot Operative
Full Time, Permanent – 35 hours per week
Salary: £22,330 to £24,881
Location: FareShare Glasgow & the West of Scotland
Closing Date: Friday 15th July
The Role
This job is about so much more than just driving. It’s about sharing the FareShare mission that “no good food should go to waste.” Your work will help make sure that quality surplus food is helping feed people in need.
You’ll collect and deliver food to and from food partners and frontline charities across Glasgow & the West of Scotland. As a regular point of contact with both our local food partners, as well as our member charities, you’ll be the face of FareShare. From time to time, you’ll also help supervise volunteers, who may join you as assistants.
You’ll be a key part of the team within the depot too, helping with our day-to-day FSGWS operations. You’ll help us receive, sort, pick and distribute the surplus food coming through our depot, and help ensure that orders are made and ready for distribution and collection.
What You’ll Need
Our drivers must be at least 25 years of age, and hold a full, clean UK driving license. You’ll need at least a 7.5 tonne/C1 class license, and a minimum of 1 year’s experience as a safe and courteous driver. You’ll also need to be physically capable, as some heavy lifting will be involved. Good experience of working within a busy depot environment is also a must.
Above all, we’re looking for a team player who shares our values. You’ll need excellent communication skills, as well as a commitment to the Move On & FSGWS ethos of equality and diversity. As working with Move On means meeting with people from all walks of life, it’s essential that you can communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. You’ll need to build excellent relationships with volunteers, suppliers, CFMs, and the wider FareShare network.
