Young person who completed our Building Brighter Futures courseFrazer's story
Frazer was able to gain several employment-focused SQA qualifications, practical work experience, and his CSCS Green Labourer Card through our Building Brighter Futures course. He also benefitted from several CV building support sessions with our team.
The process of achieving a CSCS card can be complicated, so Frazer valued the staff from Move On “helping each step of the way.” He says, “I wouldn’t even know where to start getting the other qualification [SQA Health and Safety in a Construction Environment] independently!”
Since completing Building Brighter Futures, Frazer has secured a full-time position as a joiner. He says “Building Brighter Futures was the course that got me into work – suddenly I had something that could actually get me a job.”
Kai's story
Kai achieved qualifications, training, and practical work experience through our Building Brighter Futures course.
After completing the course, Kai secured a Community Jobs Scotland job in our Move On Wood Recycling social enterprise as a Development Worker. The role gave him the opportunity to further develop his skills and increase his confidence.
Kai says he “enjoys the hands on activities, being around other people and learning new skills. Working here also increases my confidence. It’s a great experience.”
After finishing his Community Jobs Scotland placement, Kai used his training and work experience to secure full-time employment with LEMAC, an electric motor manufacturer.
